This is one of the busiest weeks of the year for florists.
It’s also a busy time for the folks at Honolulu Community College’s (HCC) sheet metal department.
It’s a tradition for the students to make these copper roses to sell on Valentine’s Day.
Roses that last forever.
“They get to take a few of them home for themselves but the majority of them are for sale. Anytime they’re making something, they see their own hand in, they take a little more time,” said Danny Aiu, HCC sheet metal and plastics program instructor.
You can buy these roses on Valentine’s Day, Thursday from 9 a.m. Until 2 p.m. or until they sell out. They usually do sell out pretty early. Go to HCC’s Building 17. They cost $15 each or a discounted rate of four for $50.
