HONOLULU (KHON2) — The Honolulu Police Department closed the southbound lanes of Fort Weaver Road due to a fatal collision.

Honolulu Emergency Medical Services also responded to the scene at around 6 a.m. and a pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 56-year-old pedestrian was said to be crossing the road when they were hit by a vehicle heading south on Fort Weaver.

Officials said the pedestrian was not in a marked crosswalk.

The 78-year-old driver of the vehicle was not hurt, according to reports.
