The city announced Tuesday that it is holding a public workshop on Feb. 10, on the future of the Blaisdell Center complex.
In March of last year, Mayor Kirk Caldwell hosted a panel of experts from the Urban Land Institute of Washington, D.C., who offered a conceptual future plan for the complex that includes the Blaisdell Arena, Concert Hall and Exhibition Hall. The complex turned 50 in 2014.
The plan was formulated in preparation with the ongoing residential development in Kakaako and the coming of the rail transit project through town.
Caldwell said then that he’d like to see changes happen within three to six years, but emphasized the need for community involvement.
The workshop on Tuesday, Feb. 10, from 6-8:30 p.m. at the Blaisdell Center Hawaii Suites in the Exhibition Hall will give the public that opportunity to voice their ideas and opinions.
