Brushfire in Waimea Valley burns about three acres

Honolulu firefighters have suspended air drops in the efforts to extinguish a brushfire in Waimea Valley.

Officials say the brushfire is in an area that’s hard to reach by foot.

A fire department spokesman says the goal was to put out hot spots and crews plan to evaluate the area Wednesday morning.

The fire burned about three acres.  No word yet on what caused it.
