A longtime Waikiki restaurant will stay open just a little longer.
Wailana Coffee House was set to close its doors on Sunday, Sept. 30.
Since the announcement last month, the restaurant has been packed with customers eager for one last meal.
A manager confirmed Wednesday that the closing date has been pushed back to Oct. 14 to accommodate the rush.
Co-owner Kenton Tom previously told KHON2 that the restaurant needed roughly $1 million in renovations to remain competitive. The family made the tough decision to close it instead.
He explains that the family still owns the land, and “has decided to look at other options for the property.”
The 24-hour diner has been serving meals for 48 years.
