BOE picks Waipahu High School Principal as interim superintendent

HONOLULU (KHON2) — The Board of Education’s transition committee named who it wants to fill outgoing superintendent Christina Kishimoto’s seat for now.

The committee is recommending Waipahu High School principal Keith Hayashi to be appointed as interim superintendent.

If selected, he would make an annual salary of $210,000 until the board names a new superintendent.

The BOE will have its next meeting on Thursday.
