Arrested suspect goes missing on Maui

Maui police report that a suspect arrested for criminal trespass has gone missing.

On Tuesday, Oct. 6, Cristian Maggio was arrested for Criminal Trespass I in Lahaina. He was taken to Wailuku District Court the following day and later released at approximately 2 p.m. Wednesday.

A friend reported Maggio missing after he failed to returned home upon his release.

Police checked with the Wailuku receiving desk, Maui Memorial Medical Center, Maui Community Correctional Center, place of employment and friends, and was still unable to locate Maggio.

He was last seen leaving the Wailuku court house, wearing red shorts, white T-shirt and black slippers.

Maggio is 36, 5-foot-4, 150 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes, and tattoos on his torso — a horse on the right side of his chest and a wolf on his right shoulder.

Anyone with information regarding Cristian Maggio is asked to contact the Maui Police Department non-emergency number at 808-244-6400, 911 if it is an emergency or contact Detective Shane Yoshizawa at 270-4352 (7:45 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday).
