Police investigate attempted murder at a bus stop at Sand Island

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Police officials are responded to a gunshot at Nimitz and Sand Island Access Road on Sunday, Sept. 29, around 1:45 p.m.

The public was advised to expect delays in the area due to the incident.

According to the Honolulu Police Department, a 52-year-old woman reported getting shot at with a shotgun while at the bus stop. She was not injured.

Police officials later determined the investigation as an attempted murder.

The suspect, 59, fled in a truck in which a witness saw him get out of when he tried to shoot at her before taking off.

Police say that no arrests have been made.
