Thursday morning there will be a public hearing on bail reform to discuss the upcoming Bill 192 relating to bail reform.
The hearing will be held at 9a.m. at the State Capitol.
According to The Offcice of Hawaii Affairs, Hawaii jails were overcrowded from 27% to 85% due to many awaiting trial and unable to afford bail.
The measure would seek relief to the individuals in custody and will allow court judges the option of unsecured bail or partial bail for release until trial date.
