The Hawaii All Breed Rabbit Club has cared for rabbits for over 20  years. They are warning parents that, though soft and posessing gentle demeanors, gifting a rabbit to children during Easter can be harmful.

“These rabbits have very fine bone structure and it’s very easy for children to break their bones. And so it’s really unfortunate. We know for a fact that the Humane Society and the veterinary clinics are just inundated with injured rabbits after Easter as a result of this. So, people need to be award of what rabbits need for their well being,” said Sylvia Tsukiyama, President of The Hawaii All Breed Rabbit Club.
