HONOLULU (KHON2) — A section of 10th avenue in Kaimuki was closed between Hinahina and Maluhia streets.
Board of Water Supply crews have been working on the 16-inch main break since Thursday night, Aug. 8. About 9 homes are affected.
One resident said that it’s frustrating how often these water main breaks keep happening on his block.
“We went through this routine so hopefully they have it fixed by this afternoon,” said Kaimuki resident Garry Ono. “I would say it’s happened five of six times already just on this block…over the years. It’s crazy.”
Back in 201, a water main break created a hole that almost swallowed up a pickup truck and flooded the road in the same area.
