Sunset Mele & Night Market features food, fun and entertainment

The second Sunset Mele & Night Market will be held Friday, from 4 to 9 p.m. at the Hawaii Convention Center.

It’s a free community event showcasing live entertainment, a family-friendly movie, pop-up market place and local eats and drinks.

The Hawaii Convention Center kitchens will be preparing much of the food that will be served at the event.

“My team is preparing pork sliders with local mushrooms and kai choi pesto, meatball sliders with Pecorino Cheese Sauce and a delicious Yakisoba” explained Executive Chef Kevin Nakata.

The Sunset Mele will boast a strong line up of performers starting at 4 p.m. with Evan Khay and Keilana, followed by IZIK, then DeAndre Brackensick from American Idol.

At 7 p.m. Mango Season will take the stage followed by Ho’okena at 8 p.m.

There will be a special screening of the film JUMANJI starring the Rock at 6 p.m. in the Lili’u Theatre; seating if first come, first serve.

Over 40 local venders will be participating in the pop-up market, from clothing and crafts to educational booths.

The shopping will include jewelry from Kī-elan, fashions from Kini Zamora and beverages from Waikīkī Brewing Company.

BMW Hawai‘i will also be on hand with a couple of new vehicles for the public to check out.
