McDonald’s is celebrating its 50th anniversary in Hawaii with a costume contest.
Contestants submitted photos of McDonald’s-themed costumes, we picked the top 10, and you had the opportunity to vote for your favorite.
Our search is finally over and, on Thursday, Nov. 1, the winners were revealed. They are:
1st Place: Baby Elya. “Cheers to 50 years of the Big Mac! The costume is handmade from recycled materials, & even added in the coin! We took the photo just as Elya started to bite into the bun – it looked that delicious!” The grand prize: a trip for four to a California theme park (hotel, air, ground transportation included).
2nd Place: Saimin girl. “Locally made ONLY in Hawai’i….I’m lovin’ it!” The prize: a two-night stay at a luxurious family resort at Ko Olina (Oahu).
3rd Place: The Kapua family. “McDonald’s holds a special place in our hearts. Our children LOVE happy meals. It is the inspiration of our costume. Taro pie is a must have. Mahalo & congrats on 50 years. We’re Lovin’ it.” The prize: McDonald’s® breakfast for one year.
