Local girl is ‘Briefcase Model #8’ on gameshow ‘Deal or No Deal’

Neka Stephens, Briefcase Model #8 on the show Deal or No Deal, was raised in Mililani, Hawaiʻi.

After graduating from Mililani High School in 2005, she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at Hawaiʻi Pacific University on a full academic scholarship.

For 6 years, she worked as a behavioral therapist to developmentally delayed children on Oʻahu until ultimately deciding to further her modeling career by moving to Los Angeles in 2014.

Since her move to the mainland, Neka has appeared in numerous national campaigns and commercials including AT&T, Samsung, Bud Light, Verizon, McDonald’s, and many more.

While print and commercial modeling are Neka’s primary focus, she also does runway.

She participated in the shows for Fashion Week El Paseo and during one of her visits back to the islands, she walked for multiple fashion designers in the Honolulu Fashion Week runway shows.

Neka says being on ‘Deal or No Deal’ has been a great, but exhausting experience.

“We shot all 30 episodes in one month at Universal Studios Orlando, but it’s what I moved to LA to do! Howie Mandel is our host and he’s the kindest, funniest person you’ll ever meet. And the models on the show—phenomenal women! We still keep in contact every day and cheer each other on with all of our individual pursuits,” she says.

Neka is currently represented in Hawaiʻi by Premier Models & Talent under agent Doug Lange.

Her Los Angeles agencies include Tricia Brink Management (print), LA Models (runway), and LA Talent (commercial).”
