Kama’aina Kids and Bishop Museum are excited to announce the opening of “Expedition: Dinosaur!”

This new family exhibit is on display now through September 3rd, 2018 and explores the fascinating world of dinosaurs and the hunt for their fossils in the 19th and early 20th century.

Expedition: Dinosaur will feature several special exhibits:

  • Hands-on interactive stations-Guests will find a number of hands-on interactives that explain dinosaur movement, digestion, and evolution. There are places to draw and color your favorite dinosaurs as well as an opportunity to take a inside the mouth of everyone’s favorite thunder lizard, Tyrannosaurus rex.
  • Dinosaur hunters’ “Bone Wars” Campaign Tent-Explores the colorful history of dinosaur hunters, from the cutthroat “Bone Wars” of the late 1800s to the adventurer and naturalist who inspired the fictional Indiana Jones character.
  • Futuristic Dinosaur Research Lab with video stations-Visitors can learn about modern scientific research that utilizes powerful neutron and x-ray CT scans to create incredibly detailed 3D fossil models. These enable researchers to see previously hidden structures inside the skull of a Rex.
