This week, you can help fight hunger without leaving your driveway! All you have to do is put canned goods in a bag and leave it your mailbox. It’s that simple.
U.S. Postal Carriers across the nation will be collecting food for their “stamp out hunger” food drive. It’s the largest one-day food drive in the nation! Adele Yoshikawa from U.S.P.S Hawaii’s food drive joins Trini in studio to talk about this great event.
The most needed items are canned meats and foods, and ice. With 49 million people facing hunger every day in America, including nearly 16 million children, this drive is one way you can help those in your own city or town who need help.
What to do: Leave your items in or near your mailbox or in post offices in the food donation bags on May 9. Carriers will deliver them to local community food banks, pantries and shelters.https://about.usps.com/corporate-social-responsibility/nalc-food-drive.htm
