Kawamoto Store is a popular okazuya in Hilo. The family-owned business opened nearly 70 years ago.
According to business manager Celeste Nathaniel, her family purchased the shop from the original owners about 16 years ago.
They offer a large selection of Hawaiian, Filipino, Japanese, and Chinese food. Nathaniel says some of their best-sellers are sushi, nori chicken and spam musubi.
Kawamoto Store is open Tuesdays through Sundays, 6 a.m.-12:30 p.m. They also cater large parties and events.
