Disabled mother of two struggles after loss of husband

Laulima

KHON2 is once again partnering with Keiki O Ka Aina for our Laulima Giving Program. Every day, we’ll share a story of a family or someone who may be going through a rough time and could use some help this holiday season.

A family is trying to pick up the pieces after the lost of their patriarch.

Mom is a widowed mother of a 7-year old boy and 3-year old girl.

Her husband, their father, died last year.

Mom is legally blind, an amputee – having lost her lower left leg – and is on dialysis three times a week.

She’s been seeking assistance from various social agencies while also trying to get her daughter into a Head Start pre-school.

The professional who referred this family to Laulima said any support for this family would be so appreciated and such a blessing this holiday season.

She says mom’s son would love a toy car or truck, and LEGOs, while her daughter would love a baby doll and books.

Mom could use help with groceries, so a Foodland gift card for her.

In the spirit of Laulima, let’s help mom and her children feel the warmth of caring and joy this holiday season.
