Hawaii reports 888 COVID cases, one new death


HONOLULU (KHON2) — The Hawaii Department of Health (DOH) reports 888 new coronavirus cases, and one new death on Saturday, Sept. 4.

There are 562 coronavirus cases on Oahu, 128 on the Big Island, 39 on Kauai, one on Lanai, 141 on Maui, four on Molokai, and 13 diagnosed out of state.

That brings the state total to 66,778.

The state death toll rises to 614. The person who died is a woman from Oahu who is in the age range of 50 to 59 years old with underlying conditions that was hospitalized.

The state stands at 63.8% of vaccinated residents.
