Hawaii reports 647 new COVID-19 cases, 2 new deaths


HONOLULU (KHON2) — The Hawaii Department of Health reports 647 new coronavirus cases and two new deaths on Wednesday, Aug. 18.

There are 431 new coronavirus cases on Oahu, 87 on the Big Island, 26 on Kauai, 96 on Maui, one on Molokai and six diagnosed out of state.

That brings the state total to 52,846.

The state death toll rises to 554.

The state stands at 61.5% of vaccinated residents.
