Hawaii reports 553 COVID-19 cases


HONOLULU (KHON2) — The Hawaii Department of Health (DOH) reports 553 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday, Aug. 31.

There are 430 coronavirus cases on Oahu, 65 on the Big Island, 13 on Kauai, zero on Lanai, 37 on Maui, zero on Molokai and 8 Hawaii residents diagnosed out of state.

That brings the state total to 63,502.

The state death toll remains at 589.

The state stands at 63.1% of vaccinated residents.
