Hawaii House of Representatives implement vaccine requirement for members and staff

Coronavirus

HONOLULU (KHON2) — The House of Representatives announced Thursday that they will implement a vaccine mandate for members and staff beginning Sept. 30.

Speaker Scott Saiki said:

The House of Representatives’ top priority is the health and safety of Hawaiʻi residents. The most effective way to make this clear is to impose a vaccination requirement upon ourselves. State government must take the lead to protect Hawaiʻi residents.”

The House cited the rise in COVID-19 for implementing this requirement. Those who choose not to take the vaccination will be required to submit a weekly COVID-19 test.
