
John Veneri brings his irrepressible personality and non-stop laughs to Hawaii viewers as Co-Host of Living808.
“Living808 is the perfect fit because I get to be me and showcase the local lifestyle” says John. “We feature food, fashion, entertainment, community, Hawaiian culture, travel and always keep it fun.”
John has worn many hats at KHON2, from his current role hosting Living808 and “Sam Choy’s in the Kitchen” to sports anchor from 1995-2010 to behind the scenes work in production and marketing from 2010-2017.
Viewers love his signature series “Go Johnny Go” which started as challenges for the former UH sports star.
The former slotback for the University of Hawaii football team and member of the 1992 Holiday Bowl team continues his love of the game and sports as the Play by Play announcer for ESPN Honolulu for all UH football radio broadcasts and has been a part of the broadcast team since 1996.
John’s love of sports began at a very young age, from Pop Warner to Little League baseball.
He’s also passionate about food and jumped at the opportunity to work on a groundbreaking cooking show with world renowned chef Sam Choy .
The top-rated show “Sam Choy’s in the Kitchen” features Chef Sam and John visiting locals and celebrities, crafting new meals out of family favorites in the fridge.
Before returning to hosting, John honed his production skills as a member of the KHON2 marketing and production team, writing, directing, shooting, and editing station promotions and commercials for 7 years.
His life experiences as a host, father, and Kamehameha Schools and University of Hawaii alumni adds another aspect to the Living808 ohana.

John loves to spend time with his wife Kelly, his kids and extended ‘ohana. They also love to try new restaurants and support local.
