Brittni Friedlander

Brittni Friedlander grew up in Ewa Beach, where she was a graduate of James Campbell High School. After receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Education from Chaminade University, Brittni went on to be a teacher and a children’s book author. During this time, she was grateful to be a TEDx speaker, a Hawai’i Science Association keynote panelist, and travel for two months to the Philippines as an education fellow. There, she learned about cultural competency and environmental education. She was able to interview local scientists and teachers on the Island of Apo, a well-preserved marine sanctuary, which grew her love of communication and storytelling.

As a former Miss Philippines Hawai’i, Brittni was also able to connect with her local community, be an active volunteer, meet inspiring individuals, and hone her public speaking skills. This led her to the opportunity to switch gears and join the Wake Up 2Day Team. When she is not working, Brittni enjoys a lot of what life has to offer—hiking, diving, baking, finding foodie spots, fostering animals, and making handcrafted jewelry!
