The rain started heavy in Wailua around 10:30 am, and by 1:00 things had started to get crazy.  Here are some photos from the Wailua Homesteads area.  The pics of the bridge show it go from very high to impassable in the span of about three minutes.

Not far away, the water rose and a car that had previously been parked high and dry found itself underwater.

Finally, some folks just don't seem to mind a little wet!
