Athlete of the Week Tadd Fujikawa

By KHON Sports

There were a number of great performances this past weekend...Kauai's Trent Allianic pitched a one hitter with 10 strikeouts in a win over Waimea.
Aiea's Randy Castillo went 4 for 4 with a double...homer and 4 RBI...and earned a complete game win over Kapolei...
But for this weeks honor...we hit the links and head out to the Mid Pac country club for a historic win....and a first for our khon2 athlete of the week.
It's been a tough professional career for young Tadd Fujikawa...he's missed the cut in 11 events since turning pro last year. ...but playing in his back yard has been good to him...He's won a number of local tournaments including the hawaii pearl open in oh-7...but this past weekend....on a course he loves...beat a player he idolizes to win his first tournament as a professional.
Fujikawa beat 3-time champion and round one leader david ishii by 7 strokes...And with the win...like the pearl open victory...became the youngest player by 3 years to take the title...But the win meant so much more than just taking home just over 13-thousand dollars...his game is growing and knowing how to win will only help him in future tournaments.
