Manti Te'o has put pen to paper.
The Punahou graduate and former Notre Dame Linebacker has agreed to and signed his first contract with the San Diego Chargers. Terms of the 4-year deal was not released at the time of the announcement.
The 6-1, 241-pound Te'o has a strong chance at starting at inside linebacker for the Chargers, who moved up in the second round to take the former Notre Dame star in the second round.
"It's a dream come true," Te'o told Chargers.com, moments after signing his contract. "Now it's time to play football. It's definitely a blessing, but now I'm ready to get to business."
Te'o arrived in San Diego Thursday afternoon and underwent a physical, took head shots, and was fitted for equipment.
He'll take the field for the first time Friday afternoon.
