University of Hawaii recruit, First Baseman Jake Bauers, who was selected in the 7th round by San Diego in last week's Major League Baseball Draft told the Huntington Beach Independent Wednesday, that he came to an agreement with the Padres, thus voiding his commitment to the 'Bows.
Bauers did not reveal any specifics of the deal, however, he said he will sign formally with the organization this upcoming Tuesday.
In his senior season at Marina High School, he had 48 hits in 84 at-bats, with 10 homeruns, 7 doubles, and 8 stolen bases.

The three remaining recruits, ranked in Baseball American's Top 500, 1B David Denson (Brewers, 15th Round) , C Iolana Akau (A's, 20th Round) and OF Marcus Doi (Cubs, 25th Round) remain un-decided at this time. They will have until July 12th to make a decision.
