Day Two of DNC Culminates in Clinton's Speech

By KHON News

The second day of the Democratic National Convention has come to an end in Denver, Colorado.

The lineup featured speeches from 11 governors and prominent House and Senate leaders.

Former Virginia Governor Mark Warner was tonight's keynote speaker.

But all eyes were focused on a much-anticipated speech by Hillary Clinton, who enthusiastically called on her supporters to rally behind Barack Obama.

Even though she lost to Obama, Clinton’s speech to delegates is one of the most important moments of this convention.

In a preview of her speech, Clinton, appearing with Michelle Obama, told supporters to put aside the divisions of a bitter campaign.

"I ask all of you who worked so hard for me, who knocked on doors and made those phone calls, to work as hard for Barack Obama as you did for me in the next months,” said Clinton.

But as Democrats try to look united in Denver, some of Clinton's hard core supporters here are not going with the party line.

"Because she deserves our respect and she should have won,” said one protestor.

Clinton herself was lashing out at Obama just months ago as John McCain is now reminding voters in T.V. ads.

"The expectations for tonight are way too high she can open the door but Barack Obama on Thursday has to close the door and in the fall,” said Fox news contributor, Lanny Davis.

An animated Dennis Kucinich more than prepared the delegates for Clinton.

The Ohio Congressman waved his arms and telling Democrats to wake up.

Clinton is expected to meet with all of her delegates tomorrow and that is when we will know the true affect of her speech.
