A spill caused a slippery situation on Sand Island Tuesday morning.
According to the Honolulu Fire Department, 700 gallons of cooking oil spilled from a Pacific Biodiesel truck.
The incident happened shortly before 9:30 a.m. on Makepono Street.
HFD responded and blocked nearby storm drains to prevent oil from going in.
The area was cleaned up with absorbent materials and the roadway was later reopened.
The city explains why the restroom has been closed for several weeks and when it's expected to reopen. There's also a temporary remedy on the way.
