A man accused of killing his friend in an Ala Moana Center stairwell will head back to court next year.
According to the Department of the Prosecuting Attorney, the retrial for 27-year-old Jacob Le will begin on Feb. 9.
On Oct. 3, a mistrial was declared in the murder case. Le was accused of killing 23-year-old Brent "Ola" Kanae in Oct. 2012.
According to the jury foreman, 11 of the jurors voted to convict Le of murder. One juror did not, which resulted in the mistrial.
The first runner to cross the finish line of the 2013 Honolulu Marathon was Gilbert Chepkwony who finished in 2:18:47.
Thousands gathered at the memorial to pay tribute to those who paid the ultimate sacrifice and to those who survived.
