Menopause The Musical

Manolo previews a Musical at the Hawaii Theatre this morning.

Menopause The Musical comes to Honolulu's Hawaii Theatre for two weeks only, April 8-20, with an opening night gala to benefit the Women's Cancer Center at Kapiolani Medical Center.

Since March 2001, this hilarious show has entertained and inspired women from coast-to-coast and internationally, in over 200 cities. The work of writer/producer Jeanie Linders, Menopause The Musical is a 90-minute production which includes 25 re-lyricized tunes from the 60's and 70's and culminates with a salute to women who are experiencing The Change.

Set in a department store where four women with seemingly nothing in common but a black lace bra meetg by chance, the musical pokes fun at things such as shot flashes, mood swings, wrinkles, night sweats and eating binges. The show's intended message is that menopause is a passage, but it should no longer be 'The Silent Passage'. It is a stage in every woman's life that is perfectly normal. It encourages a healthy dialoge about issues of aging and women's health, and provides a unique opportunity to raise awareness with frmale audiences.

Performances are Tuesday-Thursday at 7:30 p. m. Friday at 8 p.m.,
Saturday at 2 and 8 p.m., Sunday at 2 and 7 p.m. Tickets are on sale now at the Hawaii Theatre Box Office. 1130 Bethel Street, 528-0506
