The driver responsible for a deadly crash in Waipahu was sentenced to 18 months behind bars.
Honolulu police say Bryson Oshiro had been drinking and was speeding when he struck and killed 18-year-old Orlando Vallejo.
The crash happened in Village Park last August.
Since Oshiro had no previous run-ins with the law, a judge sentenced him to a year-and-a-half in jail, along with five years probation.
Oshiro must also complete 750 hours of community service by teaching students about the dangers of drunk driving and speeding.
About 40 students got sick and 25 of them, along with two adults, were taken to the hospital. Officials are now taking a look at what they ate for lunch.
Honolulu police are investigating two armed robberies that may be connected.
An 18-year-old man was arrested in connection with the death of an elderly man in Chinatown.
