The man who died after crashing his pickup truck near Ko Olina Tuesday afternoon has been identified.
The Honolulu Medical Examiner's office has identified the victim as 62-year-old John Klein of Anchorage, Alaska.
The accident happened at about 4 p.m. on Farrington Highway near the Ko Olina off-ramp.
Honolulu police say the Chevy pickup truck was in the lane closest to the center median heading Waianae-bound when it veered across the right lane, drove up a slope, went airborne, took out a coconut tree, then landed.
No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
The medical examiner says Klein died from multiple blunt force injuries due to the crash. The manner of death has been ruled as an accident.
