Kauai Police have identified the drivers killed in a crash on Kauai...that resulted in part of Kuhio highway being closed for most of the day.
The drivers are identified as: 25-year-old Scott Aviguetero of Kaumakani, Kauai and 30-year-old Wesley VanValkenburg of Union, Illinois.
County officials say a woman apparently lost control and dumped her motorcycle on the roadway.
A semi heading then hit the motorcycle, the driver lost control, and hit a car.
Both the car and the big-rig ended up in a ditch, and the drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.
The motorcyclist and two passengers in the car were taken to Wilcox Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Kuhio Highway was shut down for nine hours while police investigated causing a huge traffic jam.
The road was finally opened just before 6:30 this evening.
