Agencies are responding to help free three entangled whales in Hawaiian waters.
The call came to the U.S. Coast Guard and NOAA Thursday morning, after a charter boat reported seeing one whale off Maalaea Bay on Maui.
The charter boat stayed on scene to monitor the whale, while the Coast Guard launched a vessel and airplane to evaluate and tag the animal.
The next step is to send a team of advance responders to free the whales.
