Super Bowl Sunday is the great American holiday.
It's the day football fans put their game faces on and sport their team spirit.
"I've been a packers fan since I was a kid, since I can remember," said Green Bay fan Gerard Villalobos.
"For us fans it's a bonus when they get there we feel like we're a part of the team too," said Pittsburg fan Chris Choi.
"It's not a game it's an event, it's like a national holiday," said Robbie Acoba, Side Street Operations Manager.
At Side Street on da Strip, the game brought out some friendly rivalry.
"it's absolutely thrilling, with my good buddies, some of whom are steelers fans, that's ok we'll forgive them," joked Green Bay fan Andy Beaman.
"It's just fun. The excitement of knowing that everything is on the line for this one game and it is a big game," said Pittsuburg fan Tyanna Sakamoto.
But, it wasn't just football on fans minds. Take-out orders were stacking up at the Pizza Hut on Kapahulu.
"So once we see the tickets like this and hear the printer going we definitely know we're busy," said Cherie Medeiros, Pizza Hut General Manager.
It's considered one of the busiest business days of the year.
"Today some stores will sell 100 (pizzas) and others will sell 200 (pizzas) in an hour," said Medeiros.
At half-time, the celebration was still in full-swing.
"It's still only the first half we got the second half to go," said Pittsburg fan Rodney Kim.
The Matsumoto's hosted their 20th annual super bowl bash in Kalihi.
"I say over 150 people come every year, we load up the whole driveway, put out all the tents," said Todd Matsumoto.
A football, food and family tradition.
"Yeah we still gotta have this it's a tradition," said Matsumoto.
The Green Bay Packers won Super Bowl 45, they beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 31 to 25.
