Native plants and animals at Kaena Point finally have protection from predators.Workers from the Department of Land and Natural Resources finished work on a pest-proof fence that closes off 59-acres of coastal land at the northwestern tip of Oahu.
Officials say the fence openings are so small that small mice can't get through.
Rats, mongoose, cats and other predators won't be able to climb over or under the fence.
Gates have also been installed to allow the public to have access to the reserve for hiking and other activities.
