Honolulu police are stepping up their efforts to find a man convicted of sex trafficking but has eluded capture.

Joseph Vaimili, 28, is still on the run after skipping out on his bail.

Vaimili was convicted last week of kidnapping a woman and violently forcing her into prostitution.

He was arrested last year during a sting operation at a Waikiki massage parlor and was free on $250,000 bail.

"He was supposed to appear for trial on June 23rd 2010 apparently was at the courtroom but prior to the court starting he fled,” said Sgt. Kim Buffett.

The trial continued without him and Vaimili was found guilty.

Now, a no bail warrant has been re-issued for him, so if he is caught, he cannot be released on bail.

Call CrimeStoppers at #955-8300 if you have any information on his whereabouts.
