"Thank you Happy Thanksgiving!"To be fair, some 200 volunteers along with a staff of 40 work together to accomplish the mission of delivering meals to homebound seniors.
"Here's another bag okay?"
It's a coordinated effort to reach each location.
"Kalihi, Alewa is this one."
And for every volunteer to be where they need to be.
"All they need to do is pull up over there and you can just hand it to them."
"We have a volunteer coordinator that makes sure that all the different stations are covered so there's a lot of preparing that goes into this and it all comes together today," said Marian Tsuji, president of Meals on Wheels.
Among the army of volunteers is a squadron of bikers. They've been a part of this effort since it began 18 years ago.
"Our old folks gave up a lot and we can't forget them and shove them off to the side," said volunteer Jesse Baker. "That's basically why we do it."
Most of them are veterans or still active in the military. And on this day of giving thanks, they recognize that they have plenty of reasons to be grateful.
"Our country, and the old folks is what made our country, so that's what we're grateful for," Baker said.
And that gratitude reaches out to some 800 seniors. It's something 90-year-old Victoria Howard really appreciates.
"Is this meals on wheels?" Victoria Howard asked. "That's the one bringing me food every time. Oh thank you, God bless you!"
Next year though, Victoria wouldn't mind getting something extra.
"I'd like somebody to take care of me, I like the kine, an elderly man," said Howard.
"An elderly handsome man yeah?" Manolo asked.
"Know how to rub my back and my leg," Howard replied.
