A local fashion designer is looking to make it to the big time, and she needs your votes.Big Island native and University of Hawaii graduate -- Ivy Higa -- is one of nine up-and-coming designers vying to have their original evening gown worn by the trophy presenter during this year's Academy Awards.
The competition is all based on votes and the public has until Monday, March 1st to do so.
If Ivy wins, not only will her dress be seen by millions, but she'll also get two tickets to the Oscars.
The winner will be announced Sunday, March 7th.
