As one of the most notable figures in a technology based industry, Joe Moore, finds peace far away from any such technology.
Namely, the trail at the top of Hawaii Loa Ridge.
And so, that's what we did.
Truth be told, the trail, although a tad bit muddy, was aligned with breathtaking views.
We got to talking on the hike, and found out that Joe is the son of a career Air Force pilot.
Joe lived all over the country as a youngster but it was in Hawaii where he attended Aiea High School that something clicked.
And after serving two tours in Vietnam with the U.S. Army, Joe made the islands his home.
Joe began his broadcasting career that has now spanned four decades, most of which at KHON2 as Hawaii's most-watched newsman.
And there-in lies his greatest source of inspiration.
