Iron Chef Sakai is now in Honolulu getting his latest project off the ground.
Sakai of Hawaii will be built in Waikiki and will attempt to combine Sakai's classical french cooking style with the flavors of Hawaii.
Today, renderings of what the new restaurant will look like were unveiled.
With less than six months till opening, sakai says he does not need any more pressure.
"I've done works in overseas events, special events and things like that but this is really my first time to open up a restaurant outside of japan with my name on it. so please don't give me lots of pressure," said Sakai.
The chef also says he's been meeting with different vendors, fishermen and farmers looking for the right ingredients since arriving on Oahu early yesterday morning.
Sakai of Hawaii will be located at the DFS galleria.
