(Mon., Feb. 13, 2012)—Mayor Peter Carlisle was welcomed Sunday by Filipino government and business leaders during his visit to Cebu City.

Carlisle, who’s participating in the 22nd Annual Trade Mission to the Philippines with the Filipino Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii, was interviewed by the Filipino press as he met with Mayor Michael Rama of Cebu City to promote Honolulu and exchange cultural and business opportunities. The attached photo of Carlisle and Rama is from the SunStar.

In a speech, Carlisle recognized the Filipinos who migrated to Hawaii and have significantly contributed to its economy and to what Honolulu has become today.

For more information, refer to The Freeman and SunStar, two publications that covered Mayor Carlisle’s visit to Cebu City.

Mr. Carlisle, why only NOW that you're promoting the Philippines? You think this publicity stunt would actually gain a upper hand during your election year? Is it because Uncle Ben entered the Mayoral race that you had to make this desperate move in order to gain Filipino support from Hawaii? During the Philippine Presidents arrival for the APEC event, did you welcome him with open arms like you did when President Obama arrived in Hickam? Let's get into reality here...the Filipino community will never support you. During your reign did you ever touch base with the Filipino community? Why now Mr. Carlisle?

Enjoy the remaninder of your short useless two year term, never to be seen in Hawaiian politics again. Like your predecessor you burnt all your bridges with the people of Honolulu. Like your predecessor, your so vain to think the we would put you back in office. All the Unions and all the money in China could not get you our vote. I hope you come back with Montezuma's revenge.

So he's "promoting" Hawaii in the Philippines? Pretty sure that doesn't need to be done. That secret got out a long time ago.

"..what Honolulu has become today..." the contract trash pickup snafu for the Ala Wai & Diamond Head that KHON2 reported on 1/11. How parents are concerned about their kids safety riding the bus NOW, with cameras & driver and future rail cars without any camera or operator? Combine this fact with the lack of contract oversight to clean park restrooms. YES see what Carlisle has made Honolulu today! And only a few know of the million dollar "Line of credit announced as rail funding contingency funds" Carlisle is proposed. Maybe he's gonna move there?

This guy is taking too many trips and is a free loader. He thinks that he can get the Filipinos to vote for him but he is badly mistaken because they will not vote for someone who will bankrupt the city.
