"I've just always seen her as an extremely loving person," said Zelda Oschger, 21-year-old Taryn Wright's mother.

She says she remembers her daughter as one of the kindest people she knew.

"She was just always a kind person, you know soft spoken," said Oschger.

Raised in a small town in South Africa, Wright moved to Hawaii about a year ago to study Graphic Arts at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.  A dedicated student who got all "A's" in both high school and college.  Her love was for drawing.

Taryn's father, Mark Wright, says she was "a remarkable artist... and had an eye for amazing detail in her work."

Those close to her are still reeling from her sudden death.

"I feel like it's not real, that she's still continuing like she is every other day," said Oschger.

Friday, Wright was riding her bike thru the intersection of Dillingham and Waiakamilo when she was hit by a Roberts Hawaii tour bus.  She was taken to the hospital where she died from her injuries.

"Obviously she'll be missed, every single day she'll be missed," said Oschger.

Wright worked as a cocktail waitress at Rock Bottom Bar and Grill & was learning to be a tattoo artist.

Her mother says her friends meant everything to her.  Many have reached out to share messages and memories.

"I got a beautiful little message about how giving she was, how giving and sharing - always giving things and sharing with others," said Oschger.

On her facebook page a posting says: "A beautiful person has left this earthly place for a better home beyond our atmosphere, amongst the stars. Dearest Taryn Wright epitomized Peace and Love, you will be missed by many and forgotten by none. Rest easy, good friend."

Her father says "she was a wonderful daughter, loving sister, amazing artist and she had amazing potential."

"I do miss her and think about her every day," says Oschger.  "Of course, every single day she's in my thoughts all the time."

Wright leaves behind family and friends both in South Africa and Hawaii.

As I read This I cry and think about my sons accident. He is still here, for you I feel your pain and sorrow. As we approach my son's third anniversary of UH Manoa's denial of accountability of his bicycle accident, I hear and watch more hit and runs than I have in the past years. Maybe it is justification time for UH Manoa to take accountability. I have tried to deal with them for the past year by putting on "The Incase of Emergency Contact Awareness" to "FIRMED". I am tired of UH Manoa not being concerned about their students on and off campus. UH has a commitment to all students, faculty, staff and any community person on their campus. Below, I have added some information about somethings we are doing on campus with Club Pono @ UH Manoa's watchdog a 2009 formed RIO (Registered Independent Organization to police UH Officials and enforce the rights of the UH community). I have also sent President Obama an email to the upcoming FERPA Immediate Reform Madate Education Day or FIRMED dated for September 29, 2010 nationwide. This is to mandate the reform, educate all educational institutions about mandating a contact in case of emergency, action needs to be taken now. Each student is as vulnerable as my son was. UH Manoa security stated he was 18 thats why they didnt notify us, were his parents, damn it, thats our only son, he needed facial surgery!!!. My son Kiran Kepo'o now a graduate in Biology Spring 2010, has facial deficiencies noticeable today and we are on a mission to resolve this matter. Kiran was involved in a hit and run/denial near the Stan Sheriff Center on September of 2007. Denial because no report was found for my son when I called to find out why my son had to call us from the hospital. UH security then finds it close to 12 hours after the accident occured while riding his bicycle near the Stan Sheriff Center on his way to his dormitory at Anuenue. Sorry reliving this kills me inside every day of my life. Mahalo, Ken Kepo'o (808) 227-5740

Somebody needs to be responsible!!! This king of thing cannot be allowed to just be brushed under the rug by our failing court systems. Does the driver know somebody in HPD or in our judicial system im sure, thats the way they treat all the outside people!!.............Ignorance and corruption is ramped here!!! I pray for the familys loss!!
