Forget about home for the holidays. For hard core shoppers this is where they spend Thanksgiving....standing in a line.
"So about 36 hours, got another 10 hours to go," said Black Friday shopper Neal Magnisi.
Come wind, rain or snow - well maybe not snow- Magnisi was determined to be first in line at Best Buy. Staking his spot Wednesday at 5-pm.
Ala Moana & Toys-R-Us also drew crowds. Hundreds lining up, carts in tow, ready to cash in on Black Friday deals.
"You never know see what you can get that's cheap, throw it in your basket and then later on figure out what you're gonna get, then buy it," said Black Friday shopper Kalei Peneueta.
Black Friday is one of the busiest shopping days of the year. For retailers it's one of the most memorable.
"Madness, crazy," said Sketchers Waikele Assistant Manager Christy Lopez.
"Ahhh, I can't even describe, really crowded it's hell," said Sketchers employee Bobby Antonio.
"Crazy!," said Fragrance Outlet employee Michelle Galbiso
Stores are gearing up for the mad dash.
"You would not believe how many people come out here to shop 3:00-4:00 in the morning," said
"It's the thing, even though we live in Hawaii people going crazy for boots," said
"Of course for Black Friday shoppers waiting in lines, long lines, at Coach is as much of a Thanksgiving tradition as turkey and pumpkin pie.
"I don't eat turkey so I rather go Coach," said Black Friday shopper Loreta Badua. "Even my husband told me I'm crazy about Coach."
Badua was first in line at 4:00 o'clock.
"They open at 12:00 so since 4:00, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11... 7 hours," said Badua.
Inside, Coach has 14 registers ready and waiting.
"I have all my stuff on layaway and just ready to go," said Black Friday shopper Brittany Peters. "I'm not gonna be surprised if there's a line wrapping all the way down to the end."
