Like he has on prior trips to Oahu, President Barack Obama got in a morning game of basketball with "friends and staff", this time at Marine Corps Base Hawaii.
But, Sunday's round of hoops wouldn't be the President's only outing of the day. Around 11:00 the entire first-family were escorted back onto Base.
Despite having his own secured stretch of sand outside of his Kailua beach vacation rental, President Obama and the first family chose instead to spend the afternoon at a more private beach on Base to avoid the crowds.
President Obama made a stop Saturday at Pyramid Rock Beach to check-out the waves.
"We heard he was out playing golf or doing something and we were standing on the side there and he was waving at everyone," said Chuck Grim, retired Military. "We were excited we got to see him a little bit."
Sunday, when the First Family attended the beach on base, it was closed off to the public. Since they've been on vacation the Obama's have not ventured out like they have during prior stays on Oahu.
"He's basically not stopping anywhere I mean I'm hoping he stops, but of course if he doesn't it's fine," said Ruben Reyna, Blue Water Shrimp & Seafood Co. manager.
Reyna says their Kailua business is booming anyway with the addition of a new dish....Obama's Chili.
"Basically because it's his recipe, it's the President's recipe, said Reyna.
Blue Water Shrimp & Seafood Company says in college Obama would prepare the dish to bring with him to potluck parties.
"This has ground beef, kidney beans...it's got bell peppers it's got vinegar."
"Oh yeah, oh yeah extremely popular," said Reyna.
So far they've served up over 100 plates.
"Secret Service, locals, Police Officers, tourists everyone's buying it," said Reyna.
The Obama's spent almost 3 hours at the beach today...and enjoyed a picnic.
