Cigarettes already cost more than $8 per pack in Hawaii.Starting July 1st, the cost per pack will increase.
Residents will have to pay 40-cents more in taxes for each pack.
With the new hike, Hawaii residents will be paying $3 in state and federal taxes.
The tax hike on cigarettes will add an estimated $10-million a year to the state’s economy.
