Ready, set, action! Hawaii is setting up to bring in big Blockbuster bucks to the islands.
Filming is underway with the remake of the police drama 'Hawaii Five-O' and the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie 'On Stranger Tides'.
"I actually went over to Kokohead and was trying to get a glimpse of the Black Pearl out by the blow-hole, it was pretty neat," said Lyndsey Nelson.
Nelson was among many who came to an open casting for Universal Picture's new flick 'Battleship'.
"Thought we'd go try it out and see what we can get ourselves into," said Jennifer Morihara, who showed up at the casting.
People of all ages, genders and ethnicities filed in to sign up, snap their head-shot and hope for a call back.
"The reason I came down is because they said the magic word. They said 'Battleship'," said Norman McLafferty.
McLafferty brought with him a rare resume - photos from his speaking roll in the 1965 John Wayne film 'In Harm's Way'.
"I took the phone over and gave it to Burgess Meredith and said, hey pal, it's for you," he recounted.
One of hundreds of characters, the casting director will have to choose from for the film.
"We have a lot of talent here too that people don't know if so hopefully it will bring in more people and more people can be discovered here," said Kayla Kashimoto.
The Hawaii Film Office hopes interest in the islands will pave the way for more productions to follow.
"Look at all the promos on the air right night promoting our destination you couldn't ask for more," aid Georja Skinner, Hawaii Film Office.
With movies generating millions in local revenue.
"Now that 'LOST' is done filming we need something to boost the economy," said Nelson.
"I'm glad they started to maybe get back into the major movie production, because we need it," said McLafferty.
"Battleship" is set to begin production on Oahu sometime in September or October.
