This Pug is not your average pooch. Bugsy the pug was named after the American gangster and he is just as notorious for his good looks.
At eight-years-old … 56 in dog years …he's a Waikiki regular who almost didn't make it.
When he was only a few days old, Bugsy got terribly ill...
"Two of the other doctors and myself built a small intensive care unit in my home,” said owner, Dr. David Yew.
David spent the next few weeks nursing him back to life … a life these two now enjoy together to the extreme.
"Bugsy over the last six years has been known as one of the beach dogs for the beach boys,” said David.
And like all beach boys, Bugsy loves to surf and the other surfers love him.
Riding high and “hanging 20,” you could say he's man's best friend.
Despite a few wipeouts, he shakes it off.
"I want this dog to experience the same happiness and joy that I have in my life,” said David.
That means pushing it to the limits.
So when he's not surfing, he’s skydiving.
A skydiving dog that caught the attention of the Animal Planet and the world.
The first time David took Bugsy he posted video on YouTube.
Seventy-thousand views later and Bugsy is still up to his old tricks.
David holds him tight and straps him down in his jumpsuit then there's no stopping them as they leap in tandem.
Bugsy is definitely one amazing dog.
